This c.1966 menu for SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) features artwork by Ylva Källström-Eklund (1933-1988). Källström-Eklund created a series of these illustrations for SAS - image 2 shows another found via an auction site.

Ylva Källström-Eklund was born in Sweden and grew up in a suburb of Stockholm. She studied illustration at Anders Beckman’s school from 1951 to 1954.

Källström-Eklund went on to illustrate many children’s books and textbooks. About 30 books featuring her illustrations were translated for an international market.

As her style developed, the commissions she worked on broadened - she illustrated textile prints, tablecloths, Christmas calendars, album covers and songbooks. She also worked in advertising, designing leaflets, posters and postcards.
