Details: The illustration featured on this c.1950s Pelforth beermat is by Francis Wibaux.

Wibaux was a versatile artist - I found posters he created in different styles from the same era, including for Jeva slippers, Coronyl paint and the Foire de Lille.

In researching these posters, I discovered that Wibaux had been the head of technical services at the Havas-Lille advertising agency during the 1950s.
