TV Maintenance - Imhofs (c.1950s)

Year: Undated (c.1950s)

Format: Leaflet

Illustrator: Mann

Client: Imhofs

Details: This c.1950s leaflet advertises the television maintenance service offered by Imhofs.

Imhofs was a business established by Daniel Imhof in 1845. They originally sold instruments of Imhof’s own invention, including the orchestrion (a large musical instrument driven by clockwork). By the mid-20th century, the company was best known for its record shop on New Oxford Street in London.

The artwork is signed “Mann”, an artist I have been unable to find out much about other than their work illustrating Imhofs adverts. The same signature can also be found on a McDougall’s booklet entitled ‘Learning to Cook’.
