Details: This buvard illustration advertising gas was created by Léo Kouper (1926-2021). The poster featuring the artwork was created in 1960.

Kouper was a student of Hervé Morvan and became Morvan’s assistant while working on his own posters. He later collaborated with Veronique Morvan (I understand this to be Hervé’s daughter.)

Kouper is perhaps best known for his film posters, having been asked by Charlie Chaplin to create new posters for several of his films when they were re-released in 1972.
